Just a short one, but I'm v pleased with Sainsbury's this lunchtime - they were obviously very busy, and when I got to the till, I was served by a girl who works in the offices - apparently they'd got several of the staff out to serve at the checkouts whilst it was really busy. I've never come across this before, but as I was in a rush, I was chuffed.

That's really good
I'll be making a trip out to Sainsburies later today - at my own risk, as last time I went I had 3 different staff members drop items on me on 3 different occassions throughout my visit :O .
But it's nice to see a supermarket pulling out all the stops over the xmas period.:heartsmil Proud Weight Watcher :heartsmilStart Weight: 15st 13lb Current Weight: 10st 5lbTotal Loss to Date: 5st 8lb- - -Current 2011 Goal: Lose 8lb by 25th DecemberLoss This Week: -3 Total Loss 2011: -30 -
Yes, I think this is company policy - to get all (or most) office workers out at least one week a year on the shop floor... My mate is a senior manager at one of their main offices, often travelling the world as part of his job, and just a short while ago he was staking wine on shelves lol :rotfl:The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Thats exactly how it should be in a supermarket. I work for Sainsbury's and like the other supermarkets we can call all shop floor staff to the checkouts, in a pinch tho, office staff, HR, supervisors, and even department managers go on to get the queues sorted. Every store in the company has a store adopter(s) from head office , so that at mega busy times, they are drafted into stores to do whatever we need, be it replenish on the shop floor, go on a till or whatever.0
