EDF cooling off period

I used a comparison site to switch my Gas & Elec on the 3rd Dec. I received my welcome letter & contract on the 9th dated from the 7th.
I rang EDF today to cancel the switch over but was told I was one day out of the cooling off period which started on the 3rd, my argument was that I did not receive the confirmation letter etc until the 9th so presumed the cooling off period would start when the letter was dated & that if it was from the 3rd as they say that I was only one day out however EDF were not helpful or co-operative at all & just said they will not even as a good will gesture cancel the agreement even though they have not taken over my supply etc.
I have read the contract which does state 12 days of verbally agreeing it & then in the signature box it states as agreed over the internet.
Is there anything else I can do about this or do I have to stick with a company who has upset me from before even taking my supply over???

I think you are stuck with them, unless you want to pay the cancellation charges
usually about £40 per fuel:T:money::T0 -
From what you've said you are out of the cooling off period so no, you can't get out of the contract.
What are you wanting to get out of it? Maybe the reason will give you an opportunity, e.g. are you saying you were mis-sold the product?0
