Measuring Rate of Charge for Battery

I have a battery charger for my car but it does not indicate the rate of charge. How would I measure the amp ph rate of charge, I do have access to a multimeter.
I want to ensure that if I leave it on charge for a long period - overnight - it does not overcharge.

Without knowing more details it’s hard to say, measuring volts & amps doesn’t really help without knowing the battery details.

I’ll stick my neck out and say if your charger is small enough to lift with one hand and cheap enough to not have an ammeter fitted then it’s a trickle charger and you can happily leave it connected overnight
