Being touted on Rpoints (1500 points). Current offer £6.75 pm for 12 months (offer ends 29/12). 'Which' Best Buy. Up to 24meg download, 1.3 meg upload. Said to be unlimited.
I've never heard of them, I'm not techie, but I'm having problems with current provider Virgin.

First go to samknows.com to check whether they're enabled in you area. Then go to thinkbroadband.com and see how they're rated by users for speed, reliablilty, cutomer service etc. I think they're something to do with O2 broadband but I'm not sure.0 -
O2 and Be are both owned by Telfonica and both run on the same LLU network. The pricing structure, minor product details, and tech support are different but the basic network is the same. Be/O2 is arguably the best ADSL product on the market (well I'd argue that it is anyway) quite apart from being one of the cheapest.
Be were around before O2 came on the scene as an LLU only service and do not offer the BTw based product which O2 sell as Access. Access is best avoided as it is neither cheap nor good.0 -
they are indeed owned by o2, but i believe they're operated separately. i've been with them almost a year now on the recommendation of friends, my parents have been with them 10 months. so far i haven't had any problems. speeds have been consistent at around 6 meg on the 8 meg value package and "unlimited" seems to be true - i'm a very heavy user and they haven't complained nor limited my speeds.
i'd recommed them if it's available in your area. you can also get cashback thru quidco and if an existing customer refers you, both of you get some kind of credit against your account (a few months ago it was 30 quid but they change it).
will you have to get a BT line installed to get it? if you're currently with virgin i'm assumming you have a virgin phone line in, which won't work.0 -
I've been with Be for 2 1/2 years now, without any major issues.
I am on an older 24MB, unlimited tarrif, and usually connect at around 15Mb - I am about 1 mile away from the BT exchange.
There is curently a half price deal on, for a whole 12 months -
https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/halfprice
Deal closes 28th December.
There also is a 'refer a friend' scheme, that works with the half price rental that gives a £30 account credit to the referer, but not sure if the new connection gets anything extra.
Also don't forget Quidco do £25 and £40 cashback deals, depending on the service you sign up for..

Happy to tell you more, or if you want to PM me for further details or the referal scheme.0 -
Also been with Be for a few years with no major issues.
Was slightly disappointed after O2 bought them out as it changed from a small boutique ISP to becoming part of a bigger conglomerate. Contention ratio seems to have been held steady so bandwidth in the evenings haven't been affected too much.
Also having the option of having a static ip address' has made remote desktop a lot easier to configure - essentially taking my computers anywhere I have internet access.
Not the cheapest, but the service is well worth it in my opinion.0 -
BE are simply the best

there truly is no limit (700gb in one month not a word from them) they have no traffic shaping, no hidden filtering no band width restrictions and you can actually talk to support guys in the uk and they answer questions on there forums!
worth every penny of the £20 a month they charge me0 -
Sorry to have been slow in responding - and thanking you all. I find, now I know how to look for it, that it isn't available for me. Not exactly in the country but on the edge of conurbation! A pity as it seemed attractive from comments.0

If you want to switch from Virgin Media cable service (not Virgin National), you will first need a BT line before you can migrate to any other ISP.No free lunch, and no free laptop
