How much to get cooker connection rewired?

Hello,

I've just bought a dual fuel cooker with an electric oven. The existing cooker connection in the wall requires the cooker to be wired in, whereas the cooker can just be plugged in.

Anyone have any ideas on how much it would cost to rewire the connection in the wall to be able to take a plug?

Many thanks,

Martin

  • Cost of a 13A socket (MK about £7). Really depends is it a 32-45A cable in there or 15A ring main cable.

Absolutely no idea! Just don't want to be ripped off.
  • I would think that your cooker is supplied by a 6mm cable which would be fine for a plug socket. I reckon it'll cost you around £50ish. Make sure you get a certificate for the work.

Thanks for the tipoff, no idea they issued certificates. Amazing what you find out on the forums!
