Looks as though I'll just be using my cashcard then. Thanks for that.
Such a pain. Tried appealing with Nationwide but they're not having any of it!!

Cap one charge you a % - it should tell you the foreign currency conversion charge on the back of your statement; my OH's says 2.75%.0 -

I see you're going to Oz too - is that for a holiday? Where & for how long are you going?
Great. So that means I really will have to just use my cashcard, a £1 per transaction is ok, but only for LARGE transactions..
So irritating that I cant get one!!xx0 -

Nah thats not daft. Have opened a Citibank account which I'll have to activate when I arrive, but Australian banks (I think all of them??!! correct me if I'm wrong) only allow you to have so many free transactions per month & charge you for having an account..
I'll use this account for any wages I'll be earning when away (errgh, the dreaded w**k word, yuck!!), but I thought I'd just leave the rest floating between accounts. Some will still be in my ISA earning interest too....

£60 to get windscreen replace, 88p to send an amazon marketplace book, 79p on 4 reduced peppers, £1 to send of for my phone cashback recorded delivery.
Therefore more than I wanted to!!"A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0
