"Tools"
"Options"
"General" Tab
But it sounds like that's where you've checked. Are you getting sound from your computer at any other time?0 -
yes comp is ok apart from that , I cant remember it ever making a noise when I receive an email0

You might need to select which sound to play.
Ther should be an option to select the sound, and to test it as well. There are standard sounds, or you can choose your own .wav file.
I can't remember exactly where, as I am not near an Outlook at the moment ...0 -
try this:
- click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Sounds icon.
- In the Events list, click New mail notification.
- In the Name list, click the sound that you want to hear when you receive new e-mail, or click Browse to see more choices.
