Can I claim back phone insurance

I have recently discovered that I have been paying mobile phone insurance for a phone I no longer have.
The amount of £5.99 came out as a direct debit each month, it was only recently when I tried to claim on a stolen phone and I found out I didn't have insurance on that phone, that I looked in more detail at this direct debit, up to this point I had just assumed that the direct debit was my insurance, it was a small amount so didn't think anything of it.

Subsequently, I found that it began in 2005, I always get a new phone at the end of a contract, so I have been paying that £5.99 for a minimum of 3 years for nothing.
What is more infuriating is that I am self employed and there have been several times, during this period, where work hasn't been good and this DD has been 'honoured' by the bank and I have been charged £30.

Is there anyway I can claim back these insurance payments?

Or is it all lost to the great insurance gods?!

Thanks.
Hanniel

    Hello and welcome.

I can't see no harm in giving it a go.
Its now worthless to you and your paying out for something you don't have, so in this case cancel as well and reclaim on the same letter.

For more info on reclaiming with the guidelines and template letters to help you through this, link here:

They have 8 weeks in full, and post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

Good luck and please keep us posted.;)
