Check the item before reading further.
I bought this product from drinkstuff.com and it arrived today. On first inspection it seemed ok. Went back to it about half an hour ago and you wouldnt believe what i found. On the bottom of the mug there is a little melted edge. I thought it was wax from a candle. But the plastic has been melted to try and fix a leakage probably. I can't believe they tried to sell me a shoddy product like that. It completely ruins the look which is important since its meant to be a present for my best mate in the whole world. If thats not all the !!!!ing thing is still leaking. And the "freezable liquid" is actually just water. I know water is technically a freezable liquid but surely that is not actually allowed? I bought from them after seeing it on Iwantoneofthose.com and thought it was the same thing turns out its a crap copy.

If the glass is leaking then send it back for a refund or exchange. Get a move on though... the site says "Faults/Damages must be reported within 3 working days".0 -
Sorry but :rotfl:. Of course its allowed.

Of course its allowed? Explain that one mate. Eh i've already replied but 3 working days or not means nothing when it contradicts consumer rights. I've got atleast seven days, thats if nothing is wrong with them. Since they are faulty i could wait up to 6 months if i want.0 -
It's better if you abide by their returns policy if you can - it avoids hassle. So while you could wait longer to report the fault, it's better that you get on to it and do it within 3 days. That was my advice and I stick by it.
Now, they said the glass has a "freezable liquid" inside it. Water is a freezable liquid. So, the description is 100% correct and therefore it is, obviously, allowed. It's unlikely to be pure water anyway and its likely to have other things added to it, hence "freezable liquid" is a perfect description.0 -
Yes water is a freezable liquid, But saying freezable liquid implies that it is a well though out sustance made for that particular purpose. Why call it freezable liquid when they could call it water? its because water is obviously not a good liquid to choose in the circumstance. Its too thin and prone to leaks, it would also melt quicker than a gel or thicker liquid. Freezable liquid implies some scientific knowledge went into it somewhere.0

I disagree that the term "freezable liquid" implies that it has been scientifically formulated especially for that purpose. That is just an assumption that you have leapt to. For something that costs just £5 I'd be expecting it to be water or something closely resembling water. It is irrelevant anyway. The item is accurately described and the answer to your question about whether they are allowed to call water a "freezable liquid" is yes, whether you like it or not.0

Sounds to me like it's fault so I'd send it back for a refund/replacement. I bought some christmas pressies from Drink Stuff and whilst I haven't opened anything to look at it properly all looked okay. I had bought a few cheaper versions of things that probably won't be as good as the original product, but you get what you pay for.
Anyway, just to add my two cents Drink Stuff seemed a good professional company to me and I'm sure they will sort this out for you.0 -
How do you know it's water, there are plenty of clear liquids.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

Just my experience. How have you contacted them? Email is usually a waste of time, you might just get an automatic response or the email will be missed. I would try phoning them first, and if that doesn't work send them a recorded letter.
I'd give them a bit more of a chance to be honest, most companies take a bit more than a day to respond. Sometimes up to a week. As it is coming up to Christmas they might be a bit swamped with other things and be unable to get back to you instantly.0
