refund of tax credits part 2

Thank you to the people who replied to my first post. except the two who chose to attack me for no good reason, i suggest you sue the charm school who graduated from.

Spoke to the tax credits office yesterday about my overpayment and they read me a letter that had been sent to the office last friday from the powers that be, saying that the May overpayments would not be recovered by them as it was their computer error.

Apparently there will be a letter sent to the people affected by this asap.
About time they got their act together.

Of course my overpayment was very small, but feel desperately sorry for those that have been overpaid by hundreds and find themselves in a financial mess.

we were owed money from dec thru to jan but could we h**ll get it from them my hubby told them he wanted to put in a complaint so they sent him a booklet on how to complain which you can also do over the phone so when he phoned up on friday telling them he wanted to complain via the phone they gave him a telephone no. which directed him to an answer machine saying no -one available and to ring back later they musn't have anyone to man the phones there mustn't be very many complaints:rotfl: :rotfl:

so he tried a different number and someone promised to ring back which they did on monday, telling him there is a giro being sent out in the post :T :T :T

maybe I shouldnt have been so honest and quick enough to pay back the £45 overpayment that was made to me last month, maybe I could be cheeky enough to ring them up and ask for a refund
