Cheap Triain please help

Hi,

I do hope someone can help. I am looking to get a train from Manchester to Newcastle Upon Tyne on Saturday 19/12 returning 20/12. I need to set off around early afternoon and return around the same. I would appreciate if someone can help and suggest a way to get cheap tickets.

Try Spliting at Leeds and look for Advance singles, this brings the price down to around £46 return but you have to travel early evening.

Or Spliting at York again look for those cheap advance singles, this brings the price down to around £39 Return with better travelling times

But give yourself plenty of time to make your connections at Leeds or York around 30-45 mins just incase your train is late

With the suggested split at York, you might also consider an Anytime Return from Sunderland to York with Grand Central Trains at £16.00 (if you're over 60 that goes down to £8).
An Anytime Day Single Sunderland-Newcastle is £2.90.
