UPVC Door & Surrond Quote

Options
I am looking to replace my old wooden front door and surround with a new UPVC / Composite alternative. The quote for a composite door in light oak and light oak surround with 3 pieces of glass with leaded design has come out at £2100 including installation.

Is this a fair price?

  • Hi, I got a quote for composite door (with wood grain look, double glazed glass and lead design from selection), supply and install for £1450 (incl VAT) in London. Hope this helps.
  • No, it's not a fair price.
I quoted for a similar job a few months ago, but it was white and it came to just under £1000. (supplied and fitted)
You should be able to get it done for under £1200
  • Seems high to me. We had composite front door with all the door furniture, and a large side panel of glass made to match design of glass in the door, for £1050 supplied and fitted a couple of months ago.

and what if the posters description of composite door in light oak and light oak surround with 3 pieces of glass with leaded design actually means composite door and 2 side panels and fanlight above complete with leaded design would your estimate still be the same .You for one should realize that there are many variables to quotes there are many cheap composite doors floating about at the moment made from slabs imported from china which are timber framed inside unlike the brand we use Rockdoor

  • Hi Guys

I'm at present looking for replacement windows and doors. I'm looking for 5 windows, front and back door. I've recieved a quote from CR Smith. £5800. The windows aren't special nor are they bog standard. Can anyone say if £5800 is a good price and/or can anyone say what is a good price.

    Thanks in advance
