  • After the person on the other of the line at the Natwest call centre swore blind there was no such thing as POS dispute, I demanded to be put through to the fraud department. :mad:

    There a helpful lady said that it is not technically fraud, but a Retailer Dispute and that she would pass my details to my branch who would then raise a chargeback. First person at Natwest who has spoken sense to me in the last two weeks!

    Apparently I will be contacted within 48 hours.
  • Just had a callback from Natwest who tell me that they cannot issue a chargeback on a maestro debit card and that I have to deal with the retailer.:mad:

    I swear I am going to go insane.
  • I'd go to the petrol station and say you'll refuse to move until they sort it out.

    I wouldn't. The people in the petrol station probably won't understand what you're talking about, and certainly won't have the authority to do something about it.

    Are they on crack in telephone banking course there is such thing as point of sale dispute.

    I can only assume that they must be on crack as the person at the call centre said there was no such thing, and I really fought my corner with her and just got no-where.

    Is there anything online about POS dispute, specifically on a Natwest site?

    Have you tried showing Shell a statement or mini statement with the two transactions for the same amount on the same date ? Surley tehn they cant dispute it.

    Aremd with a statement and 2 authorisation codes id imagine the will be more imclined to try and assist as it will be their in black and white

    No theres nothing on the site its self.

    However if someone has started looking into it then let them carry on the investigation for you.

    They phoned me and said that they would not look into it.

    The guy who phoned me back said they could have done a chargeback if it was a visa debit card, but not on a maestro.
