A&L Current Account & Quidco

Hi everyone,
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place as I posted it in the quidco thread on the referrers board but got no response so thought perhaps I'd be better trying here. Basically my mum is going to open an A&L premier direct current account - I already have one so I can refer her and we can get the £25 each but I also wanted to get the £30 through quidco and split it with her but I'm not sure if this is allowed - ie use my quidco account for my mum to apply to A&L? I don't want to do anything against quidco rules but can't see anything on the website as to whether that's ok. The only other thing to do would be to get her a quidco account but as she doesn't use the internet I thought it would be easier just to put it through mine if its allowed. I'd be grateful if anyone knows. Thanks.

Michelle

  • hi there

(sorry i thanked you instead of replying .)

I think that you can only do one account through quidco so I would get her to open her own quidco account. i know it is extra hassle but at least that way you would be guarenteed the money!!

Quidco could look up on it as a bit dodgy if you try and open more than one account through them and there is always the chance that they would refuse to pay out on the rest of your earnings if they are not sure it is genuine.

    Hi,
Sorry don't think I made it very clear - I didn't use quidco to open my A&L account, didn't realise they were giving anything for it at the time:( I wouldn't have thought of putting it through mine if I'd claimed for myself. So it would be only my mum's account I'd be claiming for but I was just a little worried as obviously its her name that would be used. Their rules aren't very clear and I just don't want to break them. I might just open one for her to be on the safe side then. Thanks a lot!

You can use YOUR quidco account to open accounts for other people. It makes no difference as far as I have discovered.
What I would add however is that although the A&L referal bonus vouture is now worth only £25, the old £50 had no expiry date and might still be honoured.
PM me your email address and I'll send you one.

a question linked to this thread :
if I apply thru quidco AND try to use a refer a friend voucher, will both be honoured ?
I ask because the Rpoints link says the cash back does not work in conjunction with the refer a friend link.
Karma is a wonderful thing. ;)

I have acheived both in the past - about 4 months ago (plus the open a savings acount at the same time as a current a/c and get another 50gbp incentive) :-)
    I think....

I just saw this in new posts and thought I would add - the refer a friend has gone up to £50 again - but (I haven't checked this myself) someone has posted on here that this time they specifically exclude you using it in conjunction with a cashback site (eg Quidco). I did mine through Quidco a few months back and did get both, but it seems they might have stopped it - but £50 each isn't bad!?

A&L have clamped down on this now. It's come up a few times in the Referrers board. I thought Quidco had also updated their site to show you couldn't do both, but perhaps not.
