Cheap car insurance at last!

Well cheap for me anyway!

I passed my test in March of this year and have an insurance policy with Swinton since Jan of this year, I was paying £50 a month but now they have called to say my premium is going to fall to £37 a month from next month! result!

  • Glad to hear your premiums are going in the right direction, but I've seen the way that Swinton deal with everything from admin to complaints. I'd be looking for another company!!

If you do switch insurers, make sure you send a letter to Swinton by recorded delivery. See if you can copy it to them by e-mail too and phone them. They are extremely good at failing to cancel your policy and continuing to take the money. Then they blame you for not cancelling unless you can send them evidence it was their fault.

And I hope you never need to claim from them. Have you read of some of the problems people have had dealing with the Insurers Swintons put you with. If you search online, you will see some of the horror stories, where people have been hanging on for months waiting for their claims to be settled.

As a matter of interest, who are the underwriters of the policy?
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
