new car on scrappage scheme ?

Hi, my 10 year old car's clutch has just died and I'm not about to spend the sort of money required to fix it, on a car of that age. I'm wondering about the scrappage scheme - is it just kiddology, with the retail price being raised first before the scrappage deduction is applied, or does anyone know of any good deals out there with 0% finance or low interest rates, before the scheme finishes ?
Or, am I betteroff looking for a car a year or two old and just buying it on an ordinary loan. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who's had experience of the scheme.
Thanks

If you do a search there is a HUGE thread on scrappage on here. I think most of us on there have probably got our cars by now so its gone dead.

You need to have the current car insured, MOTd and taxed at the time of your order for the new car by the way.
