Borders Book shop

I put in an on line order at the beginning on November. I ordered £30 of gift cards, a book and a gift experience. I received the gift cards but not the other two items. After finding out that Borders had gone into administration, I checked out their website and the administrators, MCR, advised that you could get an immediate refund if you paid via a VISA/ VISA debit card (I had tried to pay with VISA originally but Borders wouldn't accept my payment, it all becomes clear now!) so had paid with Maestro which means I am not entitled to a refund via my bank. Therefore MCR advise you can send a Proof of Debt form which can be downloaded from their website and they may refund your money. I can't find the form anywhere on their site, have sent them an email but no reply.

Wasn't very easy to find but It seems this is the form you are looking for http://www.mcr.uk.com/assets/_files/documents/dec_09/mcr_uk__1259757921_Proof_of_debt.doc0

I was lucky to have paid with my credit card and have already spoken to them about getting the money back what annoys me however is that Borders should have posted out my order well before they went into administration but for some reason did not and left me having to source the goods elsewhere.
Hope you get your money back0 -
The gift cards were presents so I couldn't give them so I had to spend them in Borders, only thing was you could only use them on half the value of your purchase which meant I had to gather £60 worth of items and then pay for £30 of the cost. The gift experience was a write off and the recipient ended up with something that wasn't nearly as good as what I had bought them originally.
I was the same as you Whiteknight, I had ordered well before the issues and got my gift cards delivered but not the other two items. I wonder why?! Because they knew that I would need to spend the gift cards.0
