hi i ordered a sofa didnt pay a deposit as was getting on finance i was turned down for the credit a salesman phoned to say he could try in husbands name he got back to us and said his was fine but my husband would have to go in and sign we then decided not to get them as could get to go and sign and wait till january now dfs are phoning saying we have to have them

No you don't, your contract was never made as finance was not agreed, you husband has never made any form of contract so has no obligation, I am surprise that they are allowed to make a finance application for your husband without his authorisation,(or did he give it?), in fact I am pretty sure it is illegal.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

We did enquire about a sofa at DFS and the lady we spoke to said that if we applied for and didn't get the credit, then we were locked into buying it and would have to pay up front in cash.
