I’m currently writing a letter to my Credit Card Company closing my account.
Can any-one suggest what wording I should add to limit my liability surround the Continuous Payment Authority issue?

I’m certain that I have not knowingly authorised a Continuous Payment on this card (or any other) however I do feel that It’s possible that I have done this unknowingly.
Just to be clear, I’m not trying to avoid my responsibilities, if I’ve spent the money it’s for me to pay the bill, the issue I want to avoid is that some-one deducts money off this card without my knowledge and thus I could be facing a late payment fee.
Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, you are unable to limit your liability with regards to to Cont. Auth. - if it is on the account, it will be charged, and the credit provider cannot cancel for you (Apologies if this is teaching you to suck eggs and is something you already know.)
I am unsure how all credit providers work, but MBNA (whom I work for) always send out a statement for the new bill / balance - providing this is paid by the due date, there are no charges. Having said that, I have known (and read of instances on here) where people have moved house and not notified the credit provider - as the accoutn was closed - and then had problems with late payments etc.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
