It depends what you are looking for? You may well need advice - there are hundreds of policies on the market you have to make sure you find the right one for you. A good broker will advise you and get you quotes from the best.

  • I can't seem to get any Critical Illness cover on my life insurance policy with Scottish Widows. I've never been ill a day in my life, a bit over weight maybe but that's it. What can I do?

Are Accidental Death Policies worth the money, I have one with Norwich Union that only pays out if I have an accident whilst travelling!

Things are looking a lot better in the Ding household since I started using Money Saving Expert. The mortgage pig is working well so much so I bought another one:T

    Many thanks

If its an existing plan, then it's possible that it doesnt allow amendments.

Not worth a thing. Many "products" give accidental death cover away. It's certainly not something you would pay for.

Do you mean that you have applied for Critical Illness Cover and it has been declined by Scottish Widows at underwriting? If so you can request the reason why which will be supplied in writing (sometimes to your doctor). Any information requested over the telephone by yourself or adviser will be vague like "on medical grounds".
If you have been turned down it is important to find out why and can aid future applications who will always ask if you have had any special rates or terms offered or declined elsewhere.
