Paypal is great if you're a buyer but the absolute PITS if you're a seller. Certainly, you are protected against non-receipt of item if you buy from Ebay as they are heavily biased towards buyers. However, this does of course mean that many sellers do feel cheated by PayPal when they can provide proof of posting in an INR case but still have to refund they buyer (don't want to start a debate over this by the way!).
I can't comment on using PayPal with other retail websites (for example, Boots) but would assume your buyer rights are the same as those that Ebayers receive.0 -
Paypal are fine as a buyer and a seller. Yt ou just need to understand how they work. All the rubbish about them being biased towards the buyer is just that rubbish. All they do is use similar terms and conditions as if you were buying of any retailer and within the law. e.g its the sellers responsibility to get the item to the customer so you have to be able to prove this
Not to start the debate but proof of posting isn't proof of receipt *simples**0 -

Fewer rights when using paypal off-ebay. Which highlights the biggest pitfall of Paypal - people simply not understanding how it works...
Ebay Buyer Protection guarantees up to £500 returned in the event of non-delivery, and although Paypal Buyer Protection (separate to Ebay BP) will also cover up to £500, if the seller has withdrawn the funds, there is no guarantee the buyer will be refunded.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
What's unfriendly about a meerkat?

What Bob's trying to say is that it doesn't matter if you can prove something has been posted - if you can't prove it's arrive then you have to believe your buyer when they say it HASN'T arrived.
Think of it as a buyer whose item hasn't arrived... knowing the seller had a proof of posting wouldn't be a lot of comfort. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
