tv reception problem

in Techie Stuff
my friend lives in a bedsit(1 room),and i lent him my lcd tv with built in freeview,and a decent indoor aerial.there is no aerial on the roof ,hence no tv point inside.he has tried to tune it in ,in various positions around the room,albeit to no avail,i have tried same response,no channels.ANY HELP GRATEFUL

With analogue and a poor signal you get a grotty picture. With digital and a grotty signal it is either completely unwatchable with continual breakup of the picture or you get no picture at all.
If the indoor aerial is directional it need pointing the right way for sure and even then it may not work well.
If that area hasn't gone through the digital switchover yet try the analogue channels - at least there may be some sort of picture and you should be able to deduce the correct direction by turning the aerial around til you find the best picture. If it is still a grotty picture then the odds are that digital just won't work.0
