Problem with Security Update

I am having a problem with the following security update
Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 service pack 1(KB886903)

this is an auto update

after i have downloaded and clicked to install the following error message appears



Can anyone help

Lots of questions on the internet, but sometimes finding the answers is time consuming.

Sometimes you can get clues in c:\windows\windowsupdate.log
