                    Hey Guys,
Just to explain where I'm coming from, here's story to illustrate my point...
I made a carhire booking online and then used the car while I was in the states; all prepaid. At the phsical point of hire in LA they needed to take a credit card from me.
When I got back to the UK they charged me an extra £83 for some reason that I'm still looking into.
I've noticed that more companies use this kind of method so it makes it easier for them to get money off you for whatever reason.
If in my instance above, I used a prepaid credit card instead, am I correct in assuming that I wouldn't have had any problem if there was no balance on my card? I'm sure they would've tried but not been able to take any money out etc? Does anyone else do this?

            Would the hire company accept a prepay card?
 If they did, how much would it need to be loaded by and what would it cost?0

            You would be unable to take the car without leaving a deposit in the form of an authorised balance on a credit card (which when returned ok would never be collected)0

            @Nomoney, not sure but after what dazza said it make sense that they probably wouldn't.
 @Dazza...thanks, you've got a point which I totally forgot about.0
