Hi
OH is doing family tree and as we have suitcases full of old photos would like to scan them to add to the aforementioned digitally stored family tree
Haven't got a fortune to spend but this has lots of stars....
Canon MP540
Please has anyone got advice or thoughts on this model or another in same price range (£50 -max £150)
thanks

I've never heard of one. Mine is powered by wire/cable to usb, with no separate cable for power.0 -
Maybe something like this.. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-MP620-Wireless-Photo-Printer/dp/B001DJ6C3G
It's a wireless printer scanner. Dunno if it wireless scans - maybe it saves it to a memory card
This one will let you scan to a memory stick - http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/3271/lexmark-x4650-all-in-one0 -

I got a Lide 70 for £50 two years back in the sales and it's served me very well since -advantage this series has is its USB powered so no need for a mains power connection.
another option is at work we have a fast scanner which you can pop a stack of documents in and it automatially whips thru them, if you have access to one of those might save alot of time.0 -
One of these scanners doesn't even need to link to a PC at all -

It scans photos only (not big enough for A4) and saves to a memory card0 -
Thanks everyone - off to look nowGetting there...slowly!
