  • The auctioneer, who has done this "closing down and ripping people off" before, is apparently now doing an auction out at Kinross, on Sundays, where they hold their indoor market/car boot sale. It's held at the car auction site, so coming from the Forth Road Bridge direction, come off at exit 5, turn right, over the motorway, then left (north) towards Kinross. As you come into Kinross, there's a mill on the right hand side, then just past that, is the motor auction place, also on the right. This is just before the terrace/residential housing part of Kinross starts. The auction is in Hall 5.
  • Do you think he's auctioning off articles we gave him and ones that went 'missing' in the various catalogues?

    Have you been ripped off?

The 'Director' Robert Penman and his wife Liz can be found at Maiden Plains, Aberuthven. Just up from Auchterarder.
A nice plush home on ill gotten gains.
Just ask a neighbour to point out the house.
    GOOD LUCK
  • This is the 3rd Robert Penman has done this at the Falkirk sale room. It started as Central auction.then he became Finlays auctioneers, and then auction rooms. Leaving victims every time. He has also done the same in Edinburgh and other towns over the years. He has now moved to Airdrie, with same staff and his son in law as the auctioneer. The sale is on a wedensday selling Costco items. How this man can sleep at night i dont know.
  • Robert Penman also traded on Ebay under username artrading2007. I bought some telephones from him & they never arrived, he told me he had been in hospital & was unable to carry on working. Turns out he is a known conman who moves from town to town, both John & Robert change their mobile numbers often but the latest one for Robert will be with me midweek

I'd even hired a van to take the items along - so you can imagine how much I've lost. I live abroad, so it's difficult for me to keep in contact. How come this man is still free, and still free to take people's money? What do the police have to say? And the law? If I'd been in Scotland I'd have had him 'visited' by a couple of Glasgow Boys! Is there ANY way I can get my money back?
  • Hi would you happen to know exactly where in airdrie

was Bothwell according to article in Falkirk Herald.
Teamwork means.......never having to take all the blame yourself ;)
  • I stopped going to the Falfirk autiions when I discovered that the were " stooges " in the room there to bid prices up. Saved slimey Robert from bouncing the bids off the wall. Brian was one of them, his wife was the bleach blond that used to display goods on viewing and auction day. If you left a bid with a porter and got the item it was always for the maximum bid you left. NEVER any less. HAD ME THINKING I WAS THE WORLDS BEST ANTIQUE VALUER. The son in law Gary was just as crooked as Penman and his minging wife and even more minging daughter. The evening the TV cameras were there making a documentary about Auctions in Scotland, Gary had to hide from the cameras cause he was scared his employers, " STANDARD LIFE INSURANCE " would see that he was part of the scam run by a fraudster. Sharon that ran the office was up to her neck in the corruption as well.
I heard Penman had a conviction for fraud but don't know that for sure. I dont know how this little creep keeps getting away with cheating people.
These are my opinionsof the operation and I challenge anyone to convince me I'm wrong. Taking all things into account, and knowing that some slightly dodgy things go on in the antique trade, I would still say that both of these Falkirk sites, run by Penman, have to be the most corrupt I have ever encountered.
