Medical condition - HIV+

I have had paid out thousands of £££s on PPI on my TSB credit card over the last 12 years or so, was never asked about my medical condition, also spent a few years unemployed and living off savings, never making a claim on PPI, i cancelled my PPI about 1 year ago when i realised it was not compulsory, I still use my TSB credit card.
My question is because my memory has been affected by HIV, and i have no memory of any questions asked of me relating to taking out PPI, dont even know what i signed as i cannot find paperwork, can i still reclaim the PPI? and would LLoyds/TSB use my HIV status against me in future loans

As regards the misselling then perhaps you could ask them for a subject access request before making the complaint which is all the information they hold on you although this only goes back 6 years usually (some have had things going back further). The problem is that it cost you £10 and also can take 40 days to arrive but it may give you some idea on your card account of how you arrived at your PPI.
As regards them using the HIV against you on future loans then i would say as long as you are well now and employed (which most people have to be anyway for a loan I would think) then it should not be a problem I would not think. Not 100% but perhaps others may post for you also.
If you go for the SAR request their is a template here

Hi Kevin,
Sorry to hear of your troubles.
I hope my message reassures you in some way:
I was diagnosed with a similar condition in 1999. Not HIV but something similar in terms of it's characteristics, duration and incurability.
In 2002 I took out a loan with PPI (they did a hard sell and I was young and naive
)
I wasn't asked about medical conditions at the time and as such did not disclose any information.
When I reclaimed it was on the basis of not being asked about medical issues and I also pushed the 'hard sell' issue to add further weight.
Rather than sending in copies of my medical notes (which would have cost around £50 :eek:) I got my GP to write a simple letter stating that his patient <me> was diagnosed with <x> in 1999 and that this is clearly documented in my medical notes. This was a tactic suggested by a fellow moneysaver :T
I sent this along with my final letter to them. My letter included a statement to the effect of
" I trust you will agree that with the extent that this illness could potentially affect my health I would have sought peace of mind knowing that my policy would be valid and that payments would be covered by the insurance policy. A rationally thinking individual would not have added more than £1,000 onto their policy knowing their payments would not be covered if and when the worst happens"
I had a letter back shortly after saying they would uphold my claim
Sounds like if your condition was diagnosed BEFORE you took out any loans, and you weren't asked about your health, they don't have a leg to stand on. I mean, seriously, why would anyone intentionally pay for insurance they they know wouldn't cover them if it was needed?0
