Toshiba Netbook Sound

I want to get a netbook for my daughter and like the look of the Toshiba NB200 but have come across a review saying that the sound isn't great. Is this typical for netbooks or is this a poor feature of the Toshiba?

    Personally, I haven't heard any laptop or netbook that sounds decent without external powered speakers.
    Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!

    Well what kind of sound are you expecting from a netbook. It's only a small netbook you if your looking for HD sound buy a laptop :D

    Not looking for great sound, but it was this one review that said it was poor. Just looking for some other comments.

    Laptop looks alright. Seems like same spec is all other netboosk accept with Toshiba on it ;p.

    If you buy a hifi with 1inch diameter speakers it is fair to say the sound is not very good. If you buy a netbook for the price of a decent hifi and does so much more than a HiFi then poor sound isn't a consideration. Buy a pair of Headphones, MP3 players, as an example, always need new headphones if you want good quality.

    Most netbooks are poor. The Asus Eee 1000H had the best but its discontinued although unopened ones turn up on Ebay.
