finding the right IFA

Help I work for NHS trust they arranged a seminar for people close to retirement, the company offered there services which included IFA. I agreed for one of there IFA to come and visit us. the guy has been taken our details and will be contacting us shortly with his advice. The card he gave us has his name on but I cannot find the company which is called Entire Wealth Management anyone heard of them? I feel they must be reputable 'cause the trust I work for is pretty big. And what happens if I don't want their advice will they charge us.
Very confused.

Not much of a website though...

In this day and age every IFA needs a decent website (including you Dunston! ;) )

I'm in Norfolk. We dont need websites here.

Also, having a website is a compliance nightmare. Plus, they are damned expensive if you want anything other than a basic site. Most IFAs have got better things to do with their time (and money as software costs are getting silly)

You cant measure the quality of an individual by their website.

You cannot be charged until you have been told what the charges are and when they would apply. You will then be given a chance to withdraw at no cost. This goes for all IFAs.

  • Website is only one page and its breaking FSA guidelines, hopefully their compliance when dealing with clients is of a higher standard.

Domain is registered to a Stuart Budgen of West Byfleet who I assume is "Entire Wealth Management". Should that have been made clear on his site? All companies are required to disclose their registered name on their website. I also notice he uses a map of the world as his logo which seems ambitious.

Not sure about that, my point was that using the FSA logo on anything is a big no no. The FSA get very upset as its their logo and they say companies using it could imply that they have been "FSA approved"

Either way back to the op- they dont look like a big company

Ahh, I see. Entire Wealth Management is a limited company although they don't say that either on the website.

The FSA do allow the logo but only in a few ways. Our compliance says it can only be included on a letterhead, fax or email. It cannot be used on business cards or comp slips. The logo must be in black, not be a hyperlink and must meet stringent size requirements. The FSA specify that the letters "FSA" within the logo must not be more than three times the size of the regulatory statement.

I have the FSA logo on my own letterhead and I have frequently seen it on other firms letterhead. The website linked above doesn't seem to be using a compliant FSA logo and as there is no regulatory statement being used with it, you cannot go by size. I would suggest that the use of the FSA logo in that website is wrong.

our compliance states that Limited companies should have the registered office and the company number on websites. Dont know if that is a taken from rules or guidance.
