Apply for 2 credit cards - but which first (worried about credit rating)

I want to apply for a Post Office to do a balance transfer and also a Nationwide (also 9 months 0% spending) to start bookings hotels/car hire/etc for a trip in New Zealand at the end of the year. Just wondering if I should do one before the other as it may effect my credit rating and I really want both. All I have at the moment is a Mint which I use as my general card and then a relatively new (May) Amazon 0% spending for 6 months card. Any recommendations on which way to do it? I would hate to take out the Post Office and then Nationwide reject me as I have too much cash stoozing....

?????
If you want to get around your possible problem, you could apply for a Barclaycard (not the one mentioned above, the one with the promo rate) and then Nationwide - since Barclaycard should check only Equifax and Nationwide only Experian.0
