Clubcard - Balance too low?

I've been shopping at Tesco on and off for the past 3.5 years. We've also had our Club Card linked to our gas and electric with EON.

My balance is 169 points! Surely this is too low??

Talk to Tesco you may well have these utilities linked to a second account.

Have you ever received any Club card vouchers through the post? Have you moved since you first got the Clubcard? If you shop regularly and think you'd have spent at least £1600 in total there over the past 3.5 years, perhaps your Clubcard vouchers have gone astray somewhere?

Clubcard vouchers do have an expiry date too, so if you have not cashed any from the first year or so in yet they might be invalid.

tesco.com has a special Clubcard section - have a look and call them to investigate.

You should have been receiving regular mailings from clubcard about every 3 months - have you? They usually look like a little booklet with a breakdown of the points you've earned, and some vouchers to the value of the points.

The reason your points balance is low at the minute is because the latest of these will have just been sent out so the points have been reset to '0'.

If the address you signed up with is different to where you currently live, they might have been sending them to the wrong place. Give them a ring and see what they say, I've always found them really helpful in the past.

I've been receiving the vouchers, but never done anything with them... I have to say I usually bin them, thinking that it's more like Boots Advantage card points and they'll just keep growing and growing...

Unfortunately not. You receive the vouchers and you use them, either in store or on 4x the value on deals. If you've binned them it's likely you've lost them - call Clubcard to see if they can be reissued. It's probably unlikely but you never know.

Which is where you went wrong, they mail them out quarterly for you to use, resetting the balance to 0 or near it each time.

Give them a call, vouchers have an expiry of 24 months so you might be able to get some back if you explain you lost them.

    Ah. Ok.

So perhaps if I say something along the lines of "no vouchers, communal post box, often things get lost" they might take pity on me and re-send? And then I can convert to Airmiles??

If they have not been used and are still within date they can be re-issued.
