Yeah thanks for your friendly help and advice so charmingly delivered.
come off it - I have spelt it out to you but your last question is bordering ridiculous! Why would they tell you you're about to go overlimit? You're an adult !!!!!! - you are meant to manage the account - not them!
Come on, common sense doesn't cost anything.
My advice was spot on, it is not my fauly you are unappreciative to advice given

next time i'll not bother! Goodbye and good luck

Not all CC companies charge you for going overlimit because of interest. Capital One never charged me when this happened a couple of times early this year. Maybe that's all changed now.0

This is the third thread I've read tonight where the OP is actually posting what may seem to others as 'obvious' and the thread has degenerated into members proffering abuse.
Come on guys and gals; this is a brilliant forum and not everyone is au fait with financial matters. There's also more than the average amount of stress this time of year so.....
BE NICE!
Merry Christmas everyone! :AMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon

Go back to the top and start reading...... I answered the OP (politely) every detail and explained it in the best Plain English possible but because he did not hear the answer he wanted (and asked a downright silly question) the thread descended into farce - he even had the cheek to have a go at me after I spent the time helping him out! Charming!
Please read the thread before posting messages such as that again - thanks

They do mate - all cards. Maybe you were lucky? But technically you're overlimit - no beating about the bush - factual. Your limit shows £1000 and you go over by 1p, guess what? You've broken the terms of the agreement and they can close the account from under you and charge you £12 late fee (or whatever their appropriate late fee is).....
Sorry mate but that's just the way it is

Basically it is your responsibilty to check, but in all honestly you could ask 100 people and I reckon if they answer truthfully a good 75 would never trust their card provider,
The est interest is based only on your minimum payment, and yes afraid so that the company can withdraw any promotional offers if you go over your limit.
The thing is the credit cards can do what they like when they like, it may be worth explaining that you didn't realise as u thought the minimum payment would be enough.
You do need to get into the habit of looking at the balance adding on the est interest, taking off the minimum payment and make sure its below the balance.
Hope u get it sorted, xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Don't mistake altruism for stupidity (and I've yet to meet anyone, who responds well to being patronised ..... )Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon

What does the concern of others have to do with stupidity exactly? Patronised, who? Me to the OP? Hardly..... I was speaking to him with the same level I would with any child! I say child as a grown up would know the lender wouldn't pre-advise of overlimit on interest!
