Windows 7 Help pls

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and have a couple of problems and wondered if anyone can help me

1. I cannot find a driver for my printer Epson r300

2. My Kaspersky Anti Virus won't work. I have done all the things it has said and yet I still get a message telling me to turn it on, and when I try I get a message telling me it's failed

Any ideas pls

    2) Go to https://www.kaspersky.com and download a Windows 7 compatible version.

kaspersky 2009 isn't compatible with win7. kaspersky 2010 is though and its a free upgrade from 2009 to 2010.

That's great got both of those sorted now Thank you

Another problem is the activation, it won't let me and keeps saying the version I have is not suitable

I have XP and there followed the steps and did a "clean" install I get the error message of 0xC004F061 which when I follow the help on Microsoft tells me rubbish

Is there anyway round this? By phone maybe? Anyone got a number?

I found a bit that said I would have to re do XP and then put on 7 again??? Surely not, it has taken me best part of today to do this as it is

    Can anyone help PLEASE

You *may* have to do a clean install of 7 (reformat of hard drive involved as per the PC World solution), as just upgrading XP to 7 may not work correctly, and cause a whole shed full of woe.

Did you wipe the hard drive prior to installing it? I had an issue installing an upgrade copy of Windows 7 on a clean hard disk (it was technically an upgrade!). To get it to work I had to install it twice. The first time it would not accept the supplied product key. So I installed it again over the top of itself (setting the installation program to re-format the disc) and this time it activated. Presumably the installer needs to see a copy of Windows on the drive before accepting that its a genuine upgrade?

You have to do a clean install of 7 over XP. It says that on my box, so I'm sure it says it on yours. There's a section where it says "Upgrading from XP?" or something like that, and it says to do a full clean install of 7. You need to move ALL your files you want to keep onto external storage, then do the install, then re-install what you want. Keep the net on, and it'll find all your motherboard drivers and stuff.

If some are missing after this, google Belarc Advisor and download it. It's a completely free program which should tell you what drivers are missing (if any)
