Hi all,
I'm looking for a USB cable for a Sony NWZ-S515 MP3 player which needs to provide both power charging and data transfer.
My wife lost hers a while back and we've been looking for a replacement. We bought one from a seller on Amazon, but although it'll charge the player ok, it won't transfer data.
The actual Sony ones are very expensive (£26), whereas some generics are a lot cheaper (£5). do the generics actually work is it a case of 'you pay for what you get'?
Can anybody recommend a reliable seller?
Thanks in advance

The price that Sony charge for spares is ridiculous and has been for many years. If it's a generic USB cable, the one you pay Sony £26 for will almost certainly have been made in the same Chinese factory as one you pay £5 for elsewhere.
I usually buy USB, Ethernet, Firewire, etc cables from Ebuyer. A couple of times I've had a dud (one Ethernet cable and a USB cable that was bundled with an external hard drive) but they are so much cheaper that IMO it's worth the very occasional need to send things back.0
