Hi

As an Xmas present my daughter, partener and 1 year old baby girl, I booked a weekend break in the Marriott in Cardiff going on the 18th December.

She has got her own Tesco Deals for meals, but I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for "soft toy play areas", or anything else to do with a little one?

She loves Santa, where is the best place/shop to go?

Thank you.

My sister takes her little one to the Jazzy Jungle soft play area on High Street in Llandaf (area of Cardiff) their telephone number is 029 20561461. Its about 20 minutes by bus or 10 minutes by taxi from central Cardiff.
Winter Wonderland is open until the new year and has a Santas grotto, its not far from the Marriot and would be fun for both baby and parents.

There's a Christmas craft workshop on at St Fagans (which is fab any time of the year btw) but maybe a little boring for a baby.

Thats all I can think of for now but I'm sure other will have lots more suggestions

  • Cafe Junior is good for babies and quiet on a Sunday morning which can be useful when nothing else is open. cafejunior.com

Jump is a bit less sedate but good fun with a large softplay area and parents allowed on all the equipment! 123.jump.co.uk and go to the Cardiff pages.

As for Santa, personally I avoid the shops as they always seem over priced but I took DS to see him at Roath Park last year with some friends and we loved it. It's £5 and includes a polaroid and a trip around the lake - lovely! Details are on the cardiff.gov.uk website, go to the parks and open spaces section of the leisure pages and click on the park rangers link, you should then be able to open a pdf of the events leaflet, it's no.94, near the end.

    Hope they enjoy Cardiff! :D

parc it is a indoor park! is very good on Penarth Rd, about 10 min walk from marriot.

Alphabet zoo is a bit further down Penarth Rd but a large indoor soft play

In Cardiff town, near the capital shopping centre there is a humongous xmas tree!! Inside the Christmas tree is the man himself, it is quite expensive £5 to see him with a small gift and then its another £5 for the photograph :)
