Evening all, i'm due to get someone come out tomorrow and have a look at my pc however i thought i'd try the MSE way first and ask for no fee advice lol.
i've got windows xp and everything was hunky dorey until last week when i went to turn on oc and nothing happened!!!! it comes up with windows xp but then doesnt get to the desk top screen its just a black blamk screen.
any idea's guys????

try starting up in safe mode. press f8 when your pc starts0

yeah tried that no matter what option i choose its still taking me to a blank screen!!0

If you can't get into safe mode then it could a million and 1 different thing. First thing I would check is that all components are properly seated. Mainly the graphics card. If you can get into the bios (press delete on turning pc on) you could also try resetting the bios.
If you have a copy of the windows xp disk you could try repair installation.0 -
If you press F8 to get to the "safe mode menu" when booting up, there should then be an option "last known good configuration" which you may have some success with.
It will roll back your PC to when it last booted into windows successfully.0 -
apparantly its my hard drive thats bu**ered!!!
