So approx £15 a week electricity and £17 a week gas.

In winter, in Scotland. Cold and dark up there at this time of the year isn't it?;)

Depends on the size of your property and standard of insulation.

so would i; that about 7500 kwh of elec per year - running a business from home?-thats excessive.

249 units-is that metric or imperial? thats either 2793 units or around 20,000 per year (average) - or 7905 kwh or appox 60,000 a year- i hope its the former for gas....

    the elec suggests elec heating[conservatory/underfloor]/PC constantly on/exterior lighting/securit cameras//maybe old immersion/games consoles

Not got a jacuzzi - on that sort of elec usage i'd expect one......... do you use about same elec in summer?

the 20,000 gas is based on winter usage recalculated for a year based on using 70% of total gas in winter months so i would expect your gas to be considerably lower summer month wise

Elec - if you elec is considerably lower in summer, that does support elec heating/lighting in winter. Do you use halogen/non energy bulbs in the house and have security lights. if the elec rises considerably, as you suggest against summer, this is not covered just bu interior lighting, unless youve 16 halogen in your kitchen and another 10 in your lounge and another 6 in your bathroom-all left on; do you have a lot of exterior/security lighting? there your kids but its your bill; maybe a swear box type thing-everytime the leave their games console unattended or TV on or light on, 20p in the box; it'll help you and make them realise lifes not a free ride!

Yes indeed. If my bills were as cheap as £32 a week i'd be over the moon ;)

I am a high user though - with good cause. Internet servers at home in an air conditioned room and a hot tub in the garden to do my bit to warm the planet.
