Quick answer on cancelling white goods

Options
If I go into a high street store, buy a large white good (say freezer) for delivery in a few days time, can I cancel the order before the delivery takes place and get a refund? Effectively, is the contract not complete until the item leaves the warehouse?

just to satisfy my own curiosity, why would you buy it and then cancel it a day or so later?

if it's a case of finding it cheaper elsewhere, why not just make sure you shop around first before purchasing to make sure you get the best deal?

As you bought it in the store you have no recourse to be able to cancel, you will be relying on the retailers good will/policy.

Thanks peeps, as I thought. Needed to make a quick purchase after our fridge/freezer broke down without time to do internet browsing. Don't mind not being able to cancel - we got a good new model, just curious.

The lesson to be learned is once you have bought something, to save any tears, stop looking,

    Been there, done that...............
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
