I work with a part timer (21 hours/wk) and when she was off sick last year for over a month, our employer only paid her ssp pro rata. When she got in touch with DWP they said she should be paid for the full week and not pro rata and our employer did that. So the moral would appear to be, not all employers get it right (and ours is usually pretty good) so if they're not paid in full, I suggest query it. Don't do what she did though & get them (DWP) to ring the boss before they (employers) have been given the chance to put it right.themselves. Her popularity rating went right through the floor!

Sorry should have said ssp is about £79 per week. With 3 waiting days
  • She will just get standard SSP each month, which will be £320 pm.... Nothing else unless her company wants to give free cash away lol

Hope she gets better soon x

By my reckoning she'll have to have three waiting days before she gets SSP, so as she only works three days a week the whole first week of sickness will be unpaid. The following three weeks will be paid at 79.15 so she'll get 237.45

The waiting days are the first three qualifying days in a period of incapacity for work (PIW). They are often the days the employee would normally work but this is not always the case there may have been a different pattern agreed between the employees and the employer.
    From............
    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/employers/employee_sick.htm#2k
"They are usually the days of the week your employee normally works; their contracted working days.
You can decide not to use the contracted working days if, for example, your workforce operates a varied or alternative working pattern each week. For simplicity you may want to have the same days each week as the QDs, but you must first reach agreement with your workforce or their representative(s) about which days will be QDs. You cannot use different QD's than the actual work pattern without agreement with your employees.
There must be at least one QD in each week running from Sunday to Saturday. Bank Holidays and other non-working days do not alter the normal pattern of QDs. "

To confirm what your QDs are you may have to check with your payroll dept.

Is this £380 gross or net?

    What is her hourly rate?

The answers to these question will depend on whether she even qualifies for SSP.
