Super BTs question

Hi I'm new to this forrum and very new to this money lark.

I need a small loan and am trying to find a way of borrowing money (3k) without the annoyance of paying interest on that. Having done my research a credit card with a 0% on purchases and 0% on BTs seemed the way to go, however if I buy on the credit card there will be a 4% charge on the transaction from the dealer.

It seemed that the best way to do this was to pay off debit card and somehow pay into my bank account from the credit card. Having read about Super BT's, this seems to be exactly what I need to do.

So, I rang up Mint to check with them what the interest would be on a 'balance transfer to my bank account' and their answer was 14.9%!!

What shall I do? Is it actually possible to get 0% on a BT into a current/savings account?

And that's all before I started looking at getting around the handling fee!!!

I think this is a case of needing to ask the right questions.
I don't know if the deal is still on but MINT used to do it with cheques.
So you will find a difference depending on what METHOD you use to transfer the money.
You need to be very careful over these kind of subtleties.

I suggest you look at https://www.stoozing.com for current offer, but I would get your skates on.
It takes time to apply for a card and a dealer won't want to hang on for weeks on end.

    Thanks for the advice.

I guess it is a case of asking the right questions, however I do need to check before proceeding just incase I get stung, which I really can't afford to be! Maybe I'll just go with the 4% charge this time.
