Hi,

I have a few complaints for a refund of default charges and PPI at the FOS and these seem to be taking far too long to resolve.

Two cases have been ongoing for over 2 years. After a year the FOS started to look at it and now it's been a year and all they keep doing is requesting info from the bank, which isn't forthcoming. I complained in Sept 2007.

I've questioned how long they would give the bank as it seems its indefinate but they say no, we give deadlines. But the bank is ignoring these and the FOS is just waiting and waiting.

They won't 'fast track' my complaint and i think it seems unfair that i'm having to wait for over 1 year for the bank to respond to the FOS.

What can i do?

on 2 other settled cases, the FOS said i'd get £100 extra for the inconvenience and i signed and settled. Then the banks only offered £50, take it or leave it. Obviously i took it because i don't want to wait more months but this does seem unfair.

1 of the above 2 has paid and i'm waiting for the other to pay but its been over the 8 weeks the FOS allows them. All they've done is asked the bank again and told me to wait. Seems a long time to get paid?

    Hi there

Normally if the bank ignores the adjudicator, then its moved on to the actual ombudsman himself.
Give the FOS a ring, (the one dealing with your case on this to make sure).
How long ago has this been with an adjudicator?

If your in arrears with anything, for example the mortgage, or have medical issues, let the FOS know where they may reconsider fast tracking for you.;)

Hope you hear soon, you have already waited long enough!
