Hi. I have been following the instructions from the sticky topic above "Malware/Spyware Removal Guide" as i have some sort of spyware problem with my PC. I have followed all the steps correctly untill the point where it says you need to turn off the system restore option.
"You will need to disable system restore, boot into safe mode, scan for the problem and finally re-enable system restore.
For Windows XP:
1: Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and select properties.
2: Click on the system restore tab.
3: Check the box that says "Turn off system restore on all drives". Click OK.
4: Click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer
5: To re-enable System Restore, follow steps 1-3, but in step 3, click to clear the Disable System Restore check box."
The problem i'm having is that the properties box will not allow me to click on anything inside the box. I.e. I cannot Check the box that says "Turn off system restore on all drives". The problem occurs in every properties box on my pc.
I am using a Dell Dimension 8300 with Windows XP. Any help would be great.
Thank You

Its not greyed out. When i click on it, nothing happens. Not even the mouse loading sign appears. Its just solid if you know what i mean. I'm still getting this spyware problem also. Cheers0 -
