Unknowingly sold counterfeit goods!

Hi All,
Just wanted to share my predicament and remind people to check products carefully before selling listing.
Purchased 5 (as samples) Sony 16GB memory cards from a .com wholesaler advertised as genuine ect.
Once I had received the goods I gave them a quick check…. Yep, they say Sony all over them, they are in sealed Sony blister packaging and the hologram and all other information in order.
Anyway, sold them on at a good price and they all went within a day (Last Friday) I received a message form a very nice buyer informing me that they are not genuine and pointed me to some links that help identify fakes even form the way they are packaged! Luckily he was very understanding and said the same thing happened to him a while ago.
So now I have sent a message to the remaining 4 buyers explaining the situation and offering refund upon return and postage cost refunded, im hoping they will be understanding but expecting some bad feedback L
Question is… will I be eligible for a charge back using PayPal as I didn’t buy from eBay? I will obtain documentation from my local Sony shop over the weekend.
Has anything like this happened to anyone?
Its amazing how these counterfeiters are able to make such deceiving products, normally you can spot a cheap fake a mile off! Makes me think how many of the “bargains” are actually bargains on eBay.

Hi
As I understand it if you paid via Paypal you can make a claim through them but a refund is not guaranteed.
They will take the money from the sellers account if they find in your favour but it is limited to whatever the seller has in their account unlike when you buy through Ebay where you get full protection.
Have you contacted the company that sold them to you? That's the first thing I'd do.
LB
PS If they are fake, your buyers won't be obliged to return them to you. If you're certain they are you could just refund and advise them to destroy them.0 -

A very good point, i was thinking i would need them return them but i would just be advised to destroy them myself by PayPal.
The only way i can contact them is by rising a "ticket" at the moment that feature of the website is down i have emailed the support team with no reply so far.0 -

I'm afraid so. You can hope that they will do the right thing but I wouldn't hold your breath. As the seller is based in China I think you have very little comeback.
All you can do is keep trying to contact them and see what they come back with0 -
was this website deal e****** by chance
I have just had to open a paypal dispute with them for item not received as yesterday was the last day i could open the dispute, although they are responding to emails.
A weird thing happened as i clicked to file my dispute i had an email from said company saying i had been given a refund, but checking my paypal account i have not been refunded so i am a little confused,
But i have had another email from them today so it seems they are looking into this and trying to solve my problem so i actually feel a little guilty about opening the dispute.0 -
i would inform trading standards, and maybe police- you may be innocent, but the .com selling them certainly isnt!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
