Packed lunches for everyone at school/ work are a lot cheaper than school dinners - if you have to pay for them- or the sandwich shop. One month I costed mine out and saved about £45 over a month of school dinners.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

I'm with you there Thriftmonster,I don't care if Jamie Oliver himself is cooking the school dinners,I can still do it for a lot less and make sure it is healthy and junk-free.;)0

My OH wouldnt eat non heinz either. I bought some Asda's and added a little tiny pinch of powdered chilli pepper and he didn't say a word. I think the own brands do taste too sweet .
One of your example meals is fish fingers (Asda's are 17p for 10) .
Burgers are very easy to make from scratch.
Mash ,chips can be made from scratch a very big bag of potatoes is £3.98 in Asda. The only pricey things I can see on your list are roast beef and chops .
I only go in sainsbury's for a tin of yeast(only place I can get it) as they are so expensive. I get my fresh yeast free in Asda.0 -
Heinz beans are on offer at Tesco at the mo.
2 4-packs for 2 quid, a saving of £1.36.
We have stocked up while they are cheaper than usual. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
