Well its £94.40 at Amazon atm
Somewhat conflicting reviews
By Mr. R. Bentley - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) I bought three of these cameras after reading various reviews on the web.
These were bought for the purpose of a corporate awayday, so the review encompasses the views of many people who used them during the day.
These cameras are poor for the following reasons...
1) The camera does not pause during recording. Instead, it saves a file and creates a new file every time you stop recording, ver frustratinf if you want continuous footage, but not seperate files.
2) The camera microphone is horrenously poor. Even close-up sound is quiet and the tinny in quality.
3) When you start recording, it takes about 5 seconds for the sound to fade in. So you miss the first few seconds of audio footage every time you start recording - very annoying.
5) The doors that house the sockets for the wires are very very snug and take a long time to open them, even for those with long fingernails.
6) The build quality is poor, or possibly just about acceptable, either way, its lightweightedness means you get a very poor build quality.
The only positive for this camera that i can find is that a HD picture for <£100 is pretty good, but there will be better cameras for the same money on the market, I am sure.
Avoid this camera, do not buy it.
Thanks
Richard

Its a great little camcorder. I've brought one for my niece's to share and they love it. Its very light and they find it very easy to operate. With a handy wrist strap so they dont drop it in puddles etc... The picture and sound quality is quite impressive especially in the price range it sits in. It does make a terrific present for a loved one. Comment Comment | Permalink | Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Yes No (Report this) (Report this)

oh have just seen that the reviews on amazon are for the old version the S10, I bought the S20 (HOPEFULLY THAT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE ; ) Toshiba have added 10 more lol)
But thanks for that penryn0 -
The Amazon model is the S10, the QVC one is the S20 which replaces it. It has a bigger screen (3" c/w 2.5" although the body is very slightly bigger to accomodate this) and the QVC model also comes with a 4GB SD card, the Amazon S10 has no card. The QVC deal is a good price compared with other outlets. They also seem to be the only sellers who include an SD card and the camera is available on 4 payments.
I have the S10 and just bought another (from Amazon) for a christmas present. For the money, it's a great buy. Full HD for around £100, slim enough to carry anywhere, amazing battery life (I never seem to have to charge mine) good picture quality (even ok indoors, despite reviews) and very easy to use. The stabilisation seems to work well too.
Drawbacks? Minor compared with the price and positives, but the digital zoom is jerky and using any controls during is recording is audible on the recorded sound (including start and finish recording). These are easily edited out, but it's best to pick a zoom level before starting to record and sticking with it. Recording indoors under less than ideal lighting can make for grainy footage but most indoor shooting has come out fine for me.
Overall, I've had mine for 6 months and it's proved to be one of my better purchases. I use it more than I thought I would, because it is so pocketable. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

And of course with QVC, if you don't like it after playing with it for a while, you can return it, no questions asked. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

yes there is that....but I kinda like the idea of keeping this one. Unlike the Wiiiiii I have heard so many people bought that to play with it over xmas, then return it back!!!:eek: Whilst watching it launch and SELL OUT IN 20 MINS, I must say that thought did cross my mind!! But my oh wants it in black though, so we never got that one.
thanks0 -
my camcorder has arrived and it looks lovely...just hope it performs and oh likes it!!0
