Welcome finance

Just got off the phone with Welcome finance about 7 current claims I have with them over mis-sold PPI.
They are telling me that any loan taken over 6 years ago will not be dealt with as they say that this is too long ago although at the time of my complaint it was litterally only days over.
Also they are now saying that any refunds will be taken off my current loan and not refunded to me. I understand that if there are or have been arrears then this is correct but there has'nt..

Anyone have any ideas?

Greg

    Hi Greg

Who were the insurers to Welcome Finance, from when you first taken out the finance?
You can pursue through them, or give the FOS a ring and see what they suggest as well here:

Don't let this go quite yet, there are ways around this.;)

    Please keep us posted, cheers.

Hi Di, the insurers are Aviva and are underwritten by Direct Group.

Welcome are wrong, Greg. If you are entitled to PPI, then this has to be refunded to you in payment; it cannot be taken off the balance.

I am not 100% about whether the 6 year rule would apply; if this is Welcome's final response, make your complaint to the FOS, as Di suggested.
