Morning, firstly i must say that i dont know much about insurance and would like any suggestions on what to do.
Saturday afternoon, someone throw a stone at our bedroom window and it broken the outter glass (doubel glazed glass) i reported it to the police as vandalism and i have case number.
I am now debating whether to report it to insurance and ask them to repair it but worried that my premuims will go up.
I would like all the windows to be replaced as i am getting drafts and condensation in all the bedroom windows and would i be able to claim on the repairs on this as well ??
Hope i am making sense of it all !!
thank you for reading and hope i get some suggestions.

You can only claim for the window that has been damaged.
Insurers are not going to pay to upgrade / replace existing windows just because they are cold / collecting condensation. If the condensation is between the double glazed panes it means the sealed units have blown - in other words, reached the end of their useful life. Down to you to meet the cost of replacing.
As for the merits of claiming, I would speak to a proper glazier first. Don't go to a double glazing firm.
See how much to replace the broken glass and then look at the policy excess. For smaller, standard windows you may find the cost of replacement is less than the excess and potential increased premium next year.0 -
You could claim for the broken window only.
However, it's probably worth asking a glazier the replacement panel cost first.
My nan, for example, paid £35 for a DG panel in her kitchen, which was less than the excess0 -
thanks for the replies...i will try and get some quotes on how much it would be to repair the glass and call my insurance and ask them if my premuims will go up if i make this claim !
thanks0
