Everytime I connect to the internet a file appears on my desktop called hs_err_pid**** ( * is a number)
I now have a screen full of these and don't know how to get rid of them.
In the file it says :
An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW (0xc00000fd) occurred at PC=0x7C90E8EE
Function=strchr+0xE1
Library=C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll
Current Java thread:
Dynamic libraries:
0x00400000 - 0x0049C000 C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
0x7C900000 - 0x7C9B2000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll
0x7C800000 - 0x7C8F6000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\kernel32.dll
0x77DD0000 - 0x77E6B000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\ADVAPI32.dll
0x77E70000 - 0x77F02000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\RPCRT4.dll
0x77FE0000 - 0x77FF1000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Secur32.dll
but then goes on for several pages.
Is this a virus or just a harmless glitch and how do I get rid of it please?
Thanks

Sounds like a Java error to me rather than a virus.
You could try updating to the latest version if you're not already on the latest version.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Thanks Bill, that has set my mind at rest, updated Java and no more files!
Thanks again0 -
Yes, it is one of those java things...everytime it closes down for a random reason it will put one of those somewhere on your desktop telling you either the memory or graphics has failed somewhere, the idea being that you should send it on to the developer, but no one ever does lol
It tends to happen with much more intensive programs like Runescape and there are a number of queries about it on their forums
Needless to say, it is completely harmless"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0
