I was going to post similar earlier, starting to suspect the original poster as being a troll

Have you been claiming child benefit for your daughter in the time you have been here? That would be an additional £20 per week and is NOT public funds if there is a reciprocal agreement between the UK and India (ie, a UK National would receive the same benefit if moving to India).
Now that you have your ILR there will be no recourse whatsoever in applying for a British passport when that time comes, as you are entitled as a working member of the UK public to claim benefits just as any other person living in Britain.
If you haven't been claiming child benefit, and there is a reciprocal agreement, you may be able to get it backdated if you believed it was 'public funds' and so didn't qualify.
Have you applied for child tax credits? That is something you wouldn't have been entitled to before but will be now. I have no idea about your housing - but as mentioned on the other thread, the payments seem quite high for the salary - maybe you could renegotiate the payments on that to get you through the rough time?
You should look at JSA - but again, as you have just obtained your ILR - don't know if you lost your job prior to receiving your stamp or after, and what affect the dates might have on any claim.0 -
Wow, you were granted indefinite leave to remain just TWO DAYS after inquiring about benefits?! Even more incredible is that just two days ago you had a salary of £700pm but today have somehow been unemployed for the last month?! And two days ago your wife had a salary of £1,050pm but now seems to be taking home just £850pm. :rolleyes:I just got indefinite leave stamp and i am from india with my family is here and i lost the job recently and wife is only working so can i go for benifits? If i go then is there any difficulties to get the british passports in future?I have one daughter who is 13 age and studing and having morguage on my name so its v.difficult to pay now in just one salary before that we were on HSMP visa so we didnt applied for any benifits but now we have indefinite leave stamp so can i apply for benifits and if yes then how many benifits i can get it?I am age of 49 and last 4 yrs i was working but now no job since last 1 month.Wife is earning only 12k.
My suggestion? Go and play somewhere else. I believe the bridge that the Billy Goats Gruff have to cross is quite fun...If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
