Incorrect Offence on PCN

I live in a Controlled Parking Zone operated by Norwich City Council and could find absolutely nowhere to park at about 10.30 on Saturday night so I had to park on double yellow lines overnight. I went to move the car at 9.40 the following morning but annoyingly I had a ticket on my windscreen issued at 9.35! I accepted this as bad luck but when reading the ticket noticed that the offence is down as "Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours" when clearly it should have been related to Parking on double yellow lines.
As I have a permit to park in the controlled zone does it mean that the PCN is invalid or could they still do me for parking on the double yellows if I appeal and they have photographic eveidence.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

 • Subject to others correcting me I think you will find the contravention is correct. DYL's mean no parking at any time so parking on them means you have parked as stated. All is not lost however as many council tickets are faulty. Copy the pcn, both sides, remove personal details and host on tinypic. Photo all lines in case faulty. Then copy the url to here and leave off the HTTP://. Maybe someone on here can pick holes in the paperwork.

 • Thanks for taking the time to reply, I've uploaded the pcn but I'm classed as a new user on this site so I can't post the link to tinypic, see if this works tinypic . com / r / fx6ptj / 6 (remove spaces) I'll give it a few days then I suppose I'll have to cough up the £35.
